Coming right off the back of Kanye West's number one album Ye, 30 days later the Yeezy Boost V2 is back, and some would argue it's better than it has ever been. Kanye's art imitating lifestyle goes some way to explaining the polarising nature of his work. His shoes and his music divide opinion just as much as the man himself does. What can't be questioned however is the man's dedication to the cultural landscape he's unquestionably helping to shape. June 2018's ‘Butter' is a celebration of everything that is captivating about Yeezy as a brand. The minimalist silhouette dressed in a unique and yet subtle colour palette is something that has become a hallmark of Kanye's with the Yeezy Boost V2 but in stark contrast to some of his other more jaw-dropping and eyebrow-raising creations. This colourway is stripped back, understated, and amongst all the madness, this is a shoe for the purists. A reinvention of classic ideas, a reimagining of forgotten styles. The Yeezy ‘Butter' is the quiet kid in the class, who no one dares to pick on, and this shoe's monster popularity is a testament to that.
